    Vancouver, Canada

    Cool blocks and high mountains
Poor Canada. Often (and erroneously) dismissed as "kind Swedish" and then dumped by us northerners as we seek exotic destinations. The large country north of the United States has simply not attracted some hordes of visitors from our region.
The exceptions are the powder applicants ski enthusiasts, nature lovers and the Vancouver Saved - which are often present in the same shape. For in Vancouver you are always close to the adventure. Mount Grouse, with mountain biking, skiing, reached in half an hour. Whistler, with spectacular cliffs and wonderful nature, is just a little further away. And during the summer you can go kayaking around Vancouver island, and be lucky enough to see both bears and selection up close.
But forget all means not the town, with people reconnaissance in hip Yaletown and cruel shopping along Robson Street. A dinner at one of the restaurants where the world's influences come together in new flavors. Or why not a classic Chinese restaurant in Chinatown followed by a drink round in Gastown.

Suitable for: Sports Geeks, nature lovers, city walkers, gourmets and culture enthusiasts.
Best time to go here: Spring in town is brilliant when the outdoor terraces are filled and cherry trees blossom. But are you looking for wildlife and sports experiences, choose understood by activity - winter or summer?
How to get there: There are no direct flights from Sweden but for example from Iceland with Icelandair. Or why not combine with Washington state in the US? It only takes two and a half hours to drive between Seattle and Vancouver.
Travel time: About 14 hours including stopover.
